DHL Supply Chain has announced that it has agreed to acquire a controlling interest in Brandpath Group, which ‘provides e-commerce businesses with global fulfilment capabilities’, from PJ Investment Group (PJIG).
Brandpath serves brands including Google, Shipbob and Jessops. DHL says that the investment ‘gives Brandpath customers the benefit of DHL’s global scale and infrastructure across 220 countries and territories as well as deep supply chain expertise and capabilities’.
It adds that through its relationship with Brandpath, it will be able to ‘offer an enhanced e-commerce proposition, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses’.
Saul Resnick, CEO of DHL Supply Chain UK & Ireland, commented: “Brandpath’s proposition is highly compelling in today’s market where new, ambitious e-commerce brands are looking to achieve major global success.
“When you combine Brandpath’s customer focus and flexibility with DHL’s scale, breadth and expertise, you have a complete and accessible fulfilment solution that enables any e-commerce business to compete on the world stage.”

Acceleration of e-commerce is a key focus area of DHL Group’s ‘Strategy 2030′. Within this strategy, which adopts the mantra ‘accelerate sustainable growth’, DHL Group sets out its intention to ‘fully leverage the structural e-commerce growth trend, with both organic and selected inorganic investments’.
Peter Jones CBE, perhaps best known as the longest serving entrepreneur on the BBC television show Dragon’s Den, is the chairman Brandpath Group. Speaking on DHL’s investment, he said: “Brandpath was always established to help brands and our customers drive cross-border growth through agile logistics and technology solutions.
“We are delighted to reinforce our strong partnership with DHL and look forward to leveraging DHL’s global capabilities to deliver greater benefit for our customers.”
It has been confirmed that following this news, Jones will continue to chair Brandpath Group, and the management team will continue to lead the business, supported by key members of the DHL management team.
