John Gilbert, who heads DHL Supply Chain globally, is to step down citing personal reasons. He will be replaced by Oscar de Bok from 1st October.
“He moved the division to the next level by accelerating profitability, enhancing the portfolio and thereby fostering the position of DHL Supply Chain as undisputed industry leader.”
Gilbert joined the board of management in 2014 and led the 2020 strategic agenda which focuses on standardisation and operational excellence. He also paved the way for a smart warehousing approach through the use of digitisation, automation and robotics to improve productivity through the supply chain.
Oscar de Bok joined DHL in 1999 and held sales and project management roles within the company before rising to become managing director DHL Supply Chain for several countries and regions such as Italy, the Nordics and South-East Asia. He was most recently the chief executive DHL Supply Chain Mainland Europe, Middle East and Africa.
