Chris Millson, Head of Sustainability at Direct Wines, will be speaking at Logistics Manager’s Sustainable Supply Chain Conference in London on 10 May 2023.
He will be sharing insight on setting net zero goals and whether these goals are attainable. His presentation will cover topics such as the important difference between actions and pledges as well as the potential for carbon conscious procurement to be a ‘game-changer’ when it comes to supply chain sustainability.
Millson is a geologist who swapped gold exploration for climate action. To launch his new career, he completed an MSc in Climate Change and Development from the University of Cape Town and a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. His subsequent focus has been on driving sustainability within agriculture.
Now, as Head of Sustainability at Direct Wines, he is responsible for the company’s sustainability strategy. At the top of his list of priorities is working with the team at Direct Wines and its suppliers to deliver climate action across the value chain.
The conference is a one-day face-to-face event which highlights the untapped opportunity of supply chain decarbonisation in international climate action while also covering how having sustainability at the very core of businesses and their strategies can influence the bottom line.
The event offers attendees a total of five CPD hours – accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport – to keep up with their professional development, as well as invaluable insight from experts in the world of supply chain sustainability and networking opportunities.
