DP World has closed its $315.7 million acquisition of Peruvian logistics company Cosmos Agencia Marítima, further expanding its presence in South America.
The deal also included the purchase of all the shares in Triton Transports and Neptunia, as well as 50 per cent shares of the second largest container terminal in Peru, Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos S.A. in in the Port of Paita.
The transaction adds another container terminal to DP World’s existing terminals at Callao and Lurin, enabling the company to offer integrated logistics services such as warehousing, distribution and cargo handling to a range of industrial sectors in the country.
“The acquisition diversifies the revenue of our business through a wider range of logistics services. We already operate the largest container facility in the country in Callao which has rapidly become a leader for trade along the west coast of South America and this will enhance our services even further,” said Gerard van den Heuvel, CEO of DP World Peru.
