DP World Sokhna has received its first passenger vessel of the year with the arrival of MV Aroya, operated by Cruise Saudi.
The ship, carrying 1,600 passengers, is following an itinerary that includes stops in Jeddah, Sokhna, Sharm El Sheikh and Aqaba.
The call highlights the port’s role in facilitating both trade and tourism.
DP World Sokhna’s cruise operations include marine services for berthing, as well as immigration, customs clearance and baggage handling.
The port also supports shore excursion coordination for passengers visiting Egypt’s historical and cultural sites.
Avnash Iyer, COO and acting CEO of Egypt, DP World, said: “Our modernised terminal is designed to support the growth of Egypt across several sectors, acting as a key gateway that is connecting the world to Egypt, and Egypt to the world.
“The handling of our first passenger vessel this year reaffirms our capability to support the growth of Egypt’s economy, through tourism.”
DP World Sokhna handles both cargo and passenger operations and is positioned as a key logistics hub.
Its infrastructure and location contribute to regional connectivity and Egypt’s maritime and tourism industries.
