Parcel delivery firm DPD has secured planning for a 60,000 sq ft super depot on a six acre site at St Modwen Properties and Stoke Council’s Etruria Valley scheme in Stoke, Staffordshire.
The facility which is expected to be operational by the end of the year will replace DPD’s existing site in Stoke. As a result more than 100 jobs in the region would be safeguarded, as well as creating a further 92 opportunities, the business said.
The facility will support the opening of the company’s new parcel shop network which is also headquartered in Stoke.
DPD plans to establish its own unique network of 2,500 outlets with a DPD PickUp point within ten minute of most people in the UK.
