DSV is to open a logistics facility in Ghent, Belgium, specifically aimed at catering to the rapidly changing healthcare industry in Europe.
The facility is a 10,500 sq m (113,022 sq ft) extension on the existing distribution centre in Ghent due to open in July. The centre is now a total of 36,000 sq m dedicated to the healthcare segment.
The pharmaceutical industry is required to navigate “more finely divided customer segmentations, a quick flow of product launches and new types of distribution networks,” said DSV global business development director – healthcare & life sciences Nouzha Ouaamar.
The DSV network covers more than 80 countries worldwide with its prime location in Belgium in Western Europe. DSV managing director – DSV solutions, Belgium and France, Albert-Derk Bruin said: “The distribution centre in Ghent is located close to the Ports of Ghent and Antwerp and Brussels International Airport creating a seamless distribution network.”
