Real estate company Verdion has leased a second unit at its 800-acre iPort multimodal logistics hub near Doncaster to luxury homeware retailer Dusk.
Dusk initially took a 119,060ft² facility at the site in April 2021 and has now expanded by taking an additional 174,381ft² of space adjacent to the first building.
The new facility comprises a 169,317ft² warehouse, as well as offices and welfare space.
Jamie Young, development surveyor at Verdion, said: “Duskâs decision to increase its space at iPort is great news. Creating a logistics hub where occupiers can easily expand as their businesses grow has been part of our vision from the start and our asset and facilities management teams work closely with tenants to understand their requirements.
“This is the third company based here that has taken further space. At the same time, we remain focused on bringing new names to Doncaster, with immediate opportunities and build-to-suit capacity.”
Other occupiers at the iPort scheme include Lidl, Maritime Group, Woodland Group and CEVA Logistics. Amazon also has three facilities on the site, the first of which being a 215,000ft² warehouse taken in August 2016. A £100 million 1.1m ft² bespoke warehouse was then constructed for Amazon in July 2017 and in May 2020, it took its third warehouse â a 734,101ft² facility.
Verdion says that it has speculatively developed further buildings up to 330,000ft², all designed to EPC ‘A’ and BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards.
As a multimodal scheme, iPort has an on-site rail freight terminal, iPort Rail, that has daily services to and from Southampton, Felixstowe and Teesport. Verdion says that this is ‘increasingly being used by iPort occupiers and other businesses across the region looking to cut carbon within their supply chains’.
