Delivery service provider DX Group has now reopened 13 of the 15 former Tuffnells sites that it agreed to purchase after Tuffnells went into administration in June 2023.
The latest opening is of a 15,190ft² facility in Stafford. The former Tuffnells depot will be used to support DX Group’s Parcels network as part of its DX Express division.
DX Group expects the opening of the site to provide further capacity, improve operational efficiencies “by reducing stem mileage and carbon emissions”, and enhance customer service levels.
Paul Ibbetson, DX Group’s Chief Executive, said: “The opening of the Stafford depot means that we have now reopened 13 of the 15 depots that we took on from Tuffnells’ administrators in late June.
“It increases the capacity and capability of our Express Parcels operation, which is growing strongly, and delivers further efficiencies, environmental, and customer service benefits.
“Expanding and improving the depot network underpins the continued successful delivery of our growth plans, and we look forward to reporting on further openings over the forthcoming months.”
The first of the 15 sites to reopen was a 15,800ft² depot in Newport in August. As reported by Logistics Manager, this was followed by the reopening was a 23,913ft² facility in Norwich later in the month.
