Said to be ‘one of the largest retailers on Amazon’, Furnolic, which trades under the names Songmics, Vasagle and Feandrea, has signed a 10-year lease agreement with Prologis UK for a 166,748ft² unit at Prologis Park Ryton in Warwickshire.
This is Furnolic’s second unit at Prologis Park Ryton. In December 2021, the firm agreed a 10-year lease for DC8, a 148,461ft² facility that was the firm’s first physical site in the UK.
Its new unit, DC4, has been recently refurbished ‘to bring the unit in line with Prologisâs progressive sustainability standards’. Having been awarded an EPC ‘A’ rating, the site’s offices are now ‘fully electric’ and EV charging points have been built into the car park.
Furnolic’s agreement to lease this unit means that Prologis Park Ryton has now reached full occupancy.
Tong Wang, director at Furnolic, commented: “Prologis Park Ryton is strategically located in the West Midlands, providing easy access to six major motorways within a 14-mile radius. It is expected that the new leasing agreement will generate further jobs for the local area. Other businesses at Prologis Park Ryton include Jaguar Land Rover, DHL and LEVC.”
Furnolic specialises in homeware, furniture and pet furniture and has a global footprint that spreads across the US, Germany, Japan, France, Spain, Italy, Canada and Mexico.
The e-commerce business will reportedly use Prologis Essentials, a turnkey warehouse fit-out service, for racking at the new facility. This decision, Prologis says, mirrors its leasing agreement in 2021 that saw Furnolic become one of Prologis UKâs very first Essentials customers.
Tom Price, leasing director at Prologis UK, added: “Weâre always proud to be a part of our customersâ growth. It has been a privilege to be able to facilitate Furnolicâs expansion into another unit at Prologis Park Ryton, a location at the heart of the Golden Triangle of logistics here in the Midlands.”
