E2open, the cloud-based supply chain software provider, has acquired INTTRA, the ocean shipping network, software and information provider, saying the deal will enable it to create a unified global logistics and supply chain network.
E2open has more than 70,000 partner companies and 200,000 users. INTTRA was founded in 2001 by the leading ocean carriers and provides a neutral multi-carrier network across 177 countries with more than 35,000 active shippers, 60 carriers and 150 integrations with transport management and port system software partners.
John Fay, chief executive officer of INTTRA, said: “In joining forces with E2open, a company that shares our values and understands the benefits of global business networks, we envision a single platform with accelerated innovation to connect, streamline, and operate all aspects of global manufacturing, logistics, and distribution, resulting in immediate benefits for all stakeholders.”
