easyJet has signed a deal with Kuehne + Nagel for logistics support to refurbish and modify 39 aircraft, at five maintenance and repair locations.
It is using Kuehne+Nagel’s InteriorChain service which provides supplier order management, multimodal transport and warehousing as well as value-added services such as kitting, packaging, rework and disposal.
Elentinus Margeirsson, head of supply chain engineering and technical contracts at easyJet: ’’We have successfully worked with Kuehne + Nagel on our previous fleet upgrade. For our next 39 aircraft the complexity increases as we will work in four European locations. The KN InteriorChain solution is crucial to meet the downtime requirements and have end-to-end visibility.”
The aim is to keep planned downtime for refurbishment to a minimum while benefitting from an integrated supply chain solution.
