I’ve just spent the last hour having a very pleasurable conversation with the UK’s largest privately-owned IT company – Westcoast.
I wasn’t alone. It was broadcast live to our readers, as the Logistics Manager Top 50 Service Providers week kicked off in style. I’d like to offer my thanks to Managing Director, Alex Tatham, and Logistics and Operations Director Andy Newberry for making it such an enjoyable experience.
All week Logistics Manager is celebrating the biggest and best 3PLs in the UK… by way of our series of webinars counting down the 50 fastest growing service providers in the UK.
This morning, and available on demand forevermore, we counted down entries 50 to 31 in the Top 50 – looking at the British businesses (and the British divisions of multinational businesses) that are helping customers from every corner of the economy succeed.
Westcoast are a fascinating business taking advantage of the way that the market for logistics, fulfilment and supply chain services is changing.
Those in the world of IT will know them as a distributor – the link between vendor and reseller – that enables the channel to deliver innovative IT solutions.
During the course of the webinar viewers discovered that Westcoast does so much more that represent companies such as HP, Apple and Microsoft. It is diversifying its 3PL services for a wide variety of customers, including Estee Lauder, as well as how it provided laptops for schools and PCs and printers for Nightingale Hospitals…
Its growth targets are hugely ambitious, and it is backing them up. In 2020 it expects to see 20% growth. Not bad for a company that achieved a turnover of £2.2 billion and grew 11.5% in 2019.
It has plans for Brexit, and to help its customers – as well as new customers – negotiate the waters ahead…
Producing the Top 50 and discovering the growth stories in UK third-party logistics has been a fascinating experience. To purchase the report email Daniel.jessop@akabomedia.co.uk
And don’t miss out on Day Two and Day Three. Tomorrow we have Clipper Logistics and Logicor joining us as we count down from 30 to 11, and on Day Three we’ll analyse the Top 10 in depth and talk to Descartes and Kinaxia Logistics.
I look forward to you joining us!
