Europa Worldwide Group has appointed Alec Kirkbride as its first head of property and facilities.
Kirkbride said the new role would require him to look at “driving business efficiencies, reviewing current procurement methods and suggesting ways in which we can inject new ideas to add value to our current business model”.
Prior to joining Europa, Kirkbride worked with Aldi Stores UK as a national construction manager.
His new role covers commercial real estate, procurement, health and safety, construction project management and engineering across the 3PL. Europa has 16 separate sites throughout the UK.
Last month work started on a £60 million, 715,000 sq ft, logistics facility for Europa Worldwide Group in Midlands Logistics Park in Corby, Northamptonshire.
The scheme is due for completion in June 2020 and will double the size of Europa Warehouse’s logistics portfolio
Kirkbride said: “I’m currently heavily involved in the Corby build, especially at this stage of proceedings. Once operational, the day to day management of the warehouse will be handed over to warehouse director Maria-Torrent March.”
