Gameweek 2 did not spring many surprises in the way of results, with Spurs, Man City and Liverpool all winning.
Man City’s all time goalscorer, Sergio Aguero, scored a hat trick and provided an assist, meaning he provided fantasy teams with 20 points. If you was like our current leader, Dredged up Mastodons however, and captained the Argentinian, he would have given you a massive 40 points.
One surprise of the weekend was Brighton getting the better of Man Utd by 3 goals to 2, with 2 potential cheaper fantasy options in Glen Murray and Pascal GroB getting on the scoresheet. Somewhat less of a surprise, Harry Kane finally broke his August duck and scored in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Fulham, so is it a good time to now get the England captain in your team?
Sadio Mané carried on his early season form by scoring in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, who saw an early favourite of Fantasy Football managers, Aaron Wan-Bissaka get sent off, providing -2 points for the week. One defender who fared a lot better was Marcus Alonso, who provided a goal and an assist in Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Arsenal.
Moving onto Gameweek 3, 33.7% of managers will hope Sadio Mane carries on his good form as Liverpool host Brighton. Arsenal are also at home to West Ham, so will they finally get their first win and some big points from their misfiring frontman, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is yet to score.
