Visitors to the biggest intralogistics and warehousing trade show in the UK will be able to find out how Ferag’s ‘ultra-reliable’ sorter technology is transforming the operational performance of e-commerce fulfilment.
In 2023, IntraLogisteX will be co-located for the first time with Robotics and Automation – the UK’s largest dedicated robotics and automation exhibition – taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 28-29 March. Intralogistics solutions provider Ferag will be exhibiting at the show on stand i106.
Ferag acknowledges the competitive edge that fast order processing in a tight timeframe can give e-commerce businesses. But to make late order cut-offs for early next-day deliveries a possibility, the company says that well-engineered, reliable sorting technology is required.
Developed for some of the most testing of handling applications in the international print industry, Ferag’s high-speed overhead conveyors are designed to be extremely reliable, offering ‘unfailing’ performance on daily newspaper production runs in the millions. The same technology has been successfully applied by Ferag within the intralogistics sector, bringing reliable, high-performance conveying to businesses in several different industries.
Ferag’s ‘ultra-fast’ automated pouch sorting solution – Skyfall – ‘enables retailers to gain greater operational efficiencies by accumulating orders in advance of a final pick-wave at 10pm’. Skyfall is capable of processing up to 25,000 units per hour.
As well as being used to fulfil e-commerce orders, the Skyfall system can also be implemented in retail stores to free up more time for shop assistants, allowing them to spend longer with customers.
Children’s fashion company Mayoral recently installed a one of the largest Ferag overhead pouch solutions to date in its new Malaga distribution centre. The system has over 58,000 Skyfall hangers and a throughput of up to 12,000 units per hour.
Solutions such as this have been implemented in a range of sectors including the logistics, automotive, food, fashion, and pharmaceutical industries. Ferag has installed intelligent conveyor and sortation systems for the likes of DHL, Nestle, and AstraZenica, amongst others.
Also at Ferag’s stand will be its tilt-tray sorter – Denisort. The company says that this sorter ‘combines conveying, order picking, and sorting in one seamless and scalable system, with universal applications across a wide range of intralogistics processes’.
Ferag (Stand i106) will be at IntraLogisteX on 28-29 March 2023 at the NEC Birmingham. For more information, visit www.intralogistex.co.uk.
