Construction firm Glencar Construction has announced ‘the successful completion of a 240,000ft² carbon-neutral warehouse and office complex in West Dublin for PRL Logistics’.
The 24-week project, Glencar says, involved a full fit-out including racking, sprinklers, lighting, mechanical and electric installations, and associated civil engineering and enabling works.
It also included fit-out to the site’s three-story office space, along with the provision of ‘new welfare areas’.
Rory McGillycuddy, country director at Glencar Ireland, said: “We were delighted to work with PRL for the first time and on this impressive new carbon-neutral warehouse development in Baldonell, which is a prime location for logistics to serve Dublin and surrounding areas.
“We assembled a top team on this project and they have delivered an excellent result. We have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with PRL and the entire professional team and look forward to working with them again in the near future.”
Richard Jones, director of PRL Logistics, described the new facility as “a critical component of [PRL’s] warehousing infrastructure, which now spans over 1 million ft²”.
He added: “This facility stands as a testament to our commitment to adopting more sustainable business practices, aligning with our broader goal of reducing our carbon footprint.
“At PRL we are on target to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in 2024 by 55% due to initiatives like this net zero warehouse and the adoption of HVO [fuel].
“The refurbishment of this net zero warehouse was executed to an exceptionally high standard and achieved a particularly challenging 24-week programme.
“The Glencar project management team, in particular, brought a wealth of experience to the project, demonstrating a meticulous attention to detail throughout the process.”
