Fleet management company Fleet Alliance has announced its partnership with energy firm Scottish Power. The partnership, named Fleet Zero, is intended to provide a full electric vehicle (EV) solution for fleets, ranging from charging infrastructure to the vehicles themselves.
Scottish Power is part of the Iberdrola Group, an integrated utility company and a developer of solutions using wind energy.
Andy Bruce, Chief Executive of Fleet Alliance, said: “I’m very excited about it. Here is an opportunity to advance sustainable practices with the right EVs and the right EV charging solutions.
“It’s a great solution all round for fleets. A partnership that is practical and efficient. So let’s welcome in Fleet Zero: a partnership built on sustainability.”
Scottish Power provides both home chargers and workplace charging facilities for EVs. While home chargers can be useful for company cars, workplace chargers provide the necessary overnight charging for commercial vehicles in fleets with a return-to-base operational cycle.
The two companies hope to encourage more firms to electrify through Fleet Zero, which will see Fleet Alliance provide the electric vans and Scottish Power the EV chargers.
