SaaS provider FoodLogiQ has teamed up with a selected group of its customers to test the application of blockchain to boost transparency within the food supply chain in a blockchain pilot. Companies involved in the pilot include AgBiome Innovations, Subway/Independent Purchasing Cooperative, Testo and Tyson Foods.
FoodLogiQ aims to improve its blockchain solution with input from its customers as many have “heard the claim that blockchain will revolutionize business and redefine companies and economies, but it is in its infantile stage within the food supply chain,” said FoodLogiQ chief technology officer Charles Irizarry. “We are finding that companies are jumping into blockchain pilots without first understanding their business problems.”
The pilot is set to begin in the third quarter of 2018.
