Ford has bought Quantum Signal, a specialist in the development of technology for self-driving vehicles.
It will use of Quantum’s experience in real-time simulation and algorithm development, as well as robotics, sensing and perception technology.
It said: “The wide range of the group’s work portfolio means it will be able to support Ford in numerous areas as the company develops self-driving vehicles and transport as a service business, including software development and hardware prototyping.”
Quantum Signal was founded in 1999 and has worked on mobile robotics for a number of clients including the US military.
