The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, launched by TfL, has reached its tenth year and milestone having started as a new scheme with a small group of member operators to a nationwide scheme that represents the full spectrum of the transport operating industry with 5,000 members.
FORS defines three, progressive levels of accreditation: FORS Bronze, Silver and Gold. This practice accreditation scheme also promotes safety, efficiency and environmental protection.
“FORS shows that legal compliance isn’t good enough in today’s world, it needs to be about bringing in best practice,” said transport standards manager at Tarmac and GSAG member Garry Lewis, and it “has become the leading Standard for road transport safety and environmental issues, taking us past legal compliance to help drive us forward.”
