Fortec Distribution Network has completed a £3 million extension project to add 70,000 sq ft of warehousing space to its Watford Gap hub, bringing domestic and international freight under one roof.
The extension will increase operational capacity by 50 per cent. Fortec will introduce a range of new technologies to further increase productivity, effectiveness and efficiency within the hub and with members across the network in the next few months.
Fortec has also upgraded the hub’s security, including the CCTV system, and resurfaced the truck area. New health and safety measures have been introduced, including a full review of Fortec’s safe systems of work and an in-house training programme.
“This £3 million investment demonstrates our commitment to our members and to continue growing Fortec in the future,” said business unit director Craig Johnson. “The expansion and improvements to our hub will also provide us with an excellent platform for delivering the unrivalled quality of service our members deserve.”
