iForce has almost quadrupled its workforce from 750 to 2600 to cope with Black Friday and the rest of the Christmas season this year. The logistics and software company expect to dispatch 146,000 items on Black Friday – which would be a year-on-year increase of 23.5 per cent.
The extra warehouse staff will be “spread across iForce’s operations,” and will all have a two-day induction programme at iForce’s Training Academy. The new staff will be guided on how to process 450,000 items, which iForce estimate will come back in returns from Black Friday.
CEO Brian Gaunt said: “For several months we have worked very closely with our clients to forecast peak volumes and to develop specific plans to deal with both Black Friday and Christmas in the most effective manner. We are confident that this preparation together with the significant investment in our workforce will help our clients to enjoy their most profitable and successful peak season to date.”
