Rail operator Freightliner has signed a five-year deal with software development specialist 3Squared to use its RailSmart suite of operational software and to collaborate on exclusive future RailSmart developments.
This deal will enable Freightliner to be forefront of digital transformation in the UK rail industry. RailSmart will start with the UK roll out of the competency management system RailSmart EDS and cloud and mobile-based solution for employee rostering RailSmart ORS. Both are planned to be in operation by the end of 2018.
“RailSmart will transform our UK rail business,” said UK/Europe Region’s Rail Services managing director Neil McNicholas. “Outdated, time-consuming, manual practices will be replaced with the latest intuitive Cloud and mobile-based platforms to streamline processes [and] increase productivity.”
