Zebra Technologies, a developer of computing technology, has announced that global manufacturer FITT has implemented its warehouse mobility solution to improve supply chain processes, product traceability, and order status visibility.
After implementing the new warehouse management system, FITT required an updated solution for its new processes, alongside a cohesive management system.
Previously, warehouse operators were using older mobile devices with small screens that were not wirelessly connected which impacted productivity and operational accuracy.
To help streamline the manufacturer’s processes, Zebra delivered a warehouse mobility solution, which it claims provided long-range scanning, improved Wi-Fi connectivity and clear outdoor readability.
According to Zebra, this has supported FITT to efficiently track 15,000 pallets and offered the firm better supply chain product visibility from finished production to dispatch.
Loris Gallo, ICT Manager and SAP Migration Project Manager for FITT in Italy, said: “Our managers and operators like the new user-friendly, integrated, scalable, Android mobile devices with larger screens that can be managed remotely and deliver better visibility and management of our warehouse and yard operations.
“With a big facility along with multiple workflows, pallets and SKUs to manage, it’s essential we have a solution to help ensure customers’ demands are met quickly and accurately.”
Zebra’s CC6000 customer concierge interactive wireless kiosks were designed to enable shift managers to accurately initialise, validate, and cross-check order production activities.
These devices can be used to make teams more efficient and flexible by giving warehouse operators greater control over production quality and outcomes.
In addition to this, the MC9300 rugged mobile touch Android computers can also be used to manage inventory workflows, pick orders, compile pallets for dispatch, and check them onto lorries at loading bays.
Enzo Tumminaro, Director of Zebra Technologies Italy, said: “Manufacturers need trusted advisors, and this collaboration including FITT and Zebra is a good example of what can be achieved with the right business insight and solutions.”
FITT claims to export to 87 countries globally and that it can dispatch customer orders within two working days, with around 6,000 lorries leaving its Italian Fara Vicentino site annually.
