Developer Goodman has broken ground on a 124,038ft2 speculative logistics facility in East Horndon, Brentwood.
Forming the first phase of its 250,000ft2 London Brentwood Commercial Park development, Unit 1 will be available for occupation from September 2022, with a second phase of development offering build-to-suit opportunities from 30,000-125,000ft2.
“With a lack of supply across London and the South East, our investment in London Brentwood Commercial Park reflects customers’ rising demand for strategically-located space,“ said George Glennie, Development Director at Goodman.
Designed to a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ specification, Unit 1 will feature a full rooftop solar PV system of 827kW alongside rainwater harvesting, infrastructure for electric vehicle fleets and smart metering, helping customers to reduce energy use and meet their own sustainability objectives. The facility will also be set within a carefully landscaped environment to promote the health and wellbeing of employees while boosting local biodiversity.
It will have 12m clear internal height, a 40-60m yard depth as well as 12 dock and four level access doors. There will be 27 HGV and 106 car parking spaces.
Joint agents are Colliers and Savills.
