Goodman is to construct a 200,000 sq ft production, research and development site, and office headquarters for engineering firm Alstom at a site near Stafford.
The facility, which will be built at the Redhill Business Park to the north of Stafford, is due for completion in 2016, with Alstom’s substation automation division set for an end of 2016 move-in date.
In addition, Goodman and Alstom have also applied to build a new facility for its high voltage direct current (HVDC) and systems operations, which will move from their existing St Leonard’s site.
Nigel Dolan, development director at Goodman UK Logistics, said: “We look forward to working closely with Alstom and Cyril Leonard (Alstom’s property advisors) to deliver this exceptional project on time in 2016.”
Alstom develops HVDC and substation automation technologies, and has worked on projects in India, Sweden and Germany.
