The Hain Daniels Group has added ten trucks and seven trailers to its chilled distribution fleet, boosting its Ryder-sourced contract hire fleet to 22 trucks and ten trailers.
Hain Daniels, whose brands include New Covent Garden Soup Co, Hartley’s, Robertson’s and SunPat, operates a national distribution centre in Peterborough. It uses rigid vehicles for city centre deliveries as well as to supermarket chains, hotels and foodservice outlets. It also uses tractor units and trailers sourced from Ryder for bulk deliveries from its eight UK manufacturing plants.
Ryder has been the sole supplier to Hain Daniels since 2005 and the new trucks will include Iveco 7.5-tonners and DAF 18t and 26t fridge trucks fitted with Carrier direct-drive chiller units.
“The current renewal programme is part of our requirement to upgrade our fleet to the latest and most fuel-efficient specifications,” said James Cranfield, Hain Daniels’ head of group supply chain and logistics.
