Hallmark Cards has appointed developer Seddon to expand its existing Dawson Lane distribution centre in a £4.4million development. The card retailer is consolidating all of its Bradford operations into the one site.
The current site houses 180 distribution staff – this will increase to 630 once the expansion is complete.
Seddon will construct mezzanine floors as the site, including lift and stair access. Electric services will be refitted, and the existing facilities and external alterations will be refurbished.
“We have a great opportunity to make our Dawson Lane site right for the future, and create a space that is better suited to the work we do,” said Richard Campbell, international supply chain director, Hallmark Cards. “It will also bring us closer to our retail distribution centre so we can be more connected within the business. With on-time delivery vital, Seddon were a clear choice for the project.”
