Property regeneration company Harworth Group has optioned a 168-acre site in the East Midlands for a 1.6 million ft2 sustainable industrial and logistics scheme.
The site, south of Junction 15 on the M1 motorway in Northamptonshire, is part of the emerging West Northamptonshire Strategic Plan (WNSP).
The proposed development will target net zero carbon status and an EPC rating of A and BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification, alongside unique landscaping features and an ecological enhancement area.
The landscaping and amenity elements of the design will also enhance the wellbeing of those working at and visiting the site.
The acquisition will add to Harworth’s already extensive 32.2m ft2 industrial and logistics pipeline and provide opportunities to deliver its strategic objective of increasing direct development.
It follows Harworth’s acquisition in November 2021 of its Rothwell site, elsewhere in Northamptonshire, which the company is currently promoting for employment use.
