Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has taken an 85,262 sq ft speculative warehouse at Prologis’ Apex Park in Daventry.
Prologis started construction speculatively on the new distribution centre at the end of August 2015 and completion is scheduled for April this year. Hellmann will use the facility to service a number of new and existing customers.
“This building meets our requirements exactly, so we are delighted to have secured it for the expansion of our UK business,” said Andrew Sulston, director contract logistics & consulting, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Ltd. “We already work with Prologis in Europe and the Americas, so we are confident that the team will deliver a high quality distribution centre that will be ready to meet our operational deadline.”
The distribution centre has been designed to achieve a minimum BREEAM 2011 ‘excellent’ accreditation and the best EPC rating possible for its size.
“We decided to build speculatively at Prologis Apex Park because Daventry is a prime location for logistics operators,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK. “We focus on providing the best opportunities in the market for our customers, so we are pleased that this unit suits Hellmann’s operations so well.”
