Gist has been awarded an annual contract with Morrisons for primary distribution of Noon’s Indian and Oriental ready meals to its national network of distribution centres.
London-based Noon prepares 2.4 million meals for the retail market every week.
Gist will base the new distribution operation at its Spalding site, which is well positioned to service Morrisons’ own distribution network.
It is working with Noon and Morrisons InMotion, the supermarket’s distribution arm, to meet customer demand and minimise food miles.
* Dutch Flower Group, the supplier of flowers and plants, has chosen Gist to manage daily international arrivals of fresh flowers into the UK and their same-day delivery to Dutch Flower Group’s processing facilities. This contract extends a relationship between the two companies that has lasted almost ten years.
Gist will handle the inbound customs clearance and DEFRA/Plant Health applications of flowers flown in from farms in South and Central America, South Africa, East Africa, as well as the daily collection and delivery of the inbound airfreight arrivals.
It will use fleet of dedicated, refrigerated Q7 cargo trailers to make daily collections from UK gateway airports and same-day deliveries to Dutch Flower Group’s horticultural processing facilities in Holbeach and Hull.
