Fright forwarder and Palletways member International Forwarding has opened its third warehouse in the Midlands to handle an anticipated rise in post-Brexit volumes.
The 40.000 sq ft warehouse in Garretts Green, Birmingham, will add up to 6,000 pallets of capacity for import and export goods.
Rob Pike, Managing Director of IFL, said: “These are tough times for everyone, but we are very excited to be opening our third warehouse at this strategic site for goods coming into Birmingham or being shipped to Europe.
“Like many other forwarders, our warehouse operations have been running at near maximum capacity throughout lockdown.”
Pike said the company would offer additional temporary space to other logistics operators “who are also at capacity”.
Last year International Forwarding added a 21,528 sq ft mid-box in Coleshill to its network, doubling its capacity at the time.
