James and James, the e-commerce fulfilment service, is opening a 125,000 sq ft distribution centre in Northampton. The company has said its e-retail clients will now benefit from ‘later order cut-off times’.
The site, located at the Brackmills Industrial Estate, will also house the company’s new head office.
“This new facility offers us a highly efficient gateway to our national and international customers”, said James Hyde, operations director of James and James. “We have recently opened another large facility in Ohio, USA and plan to announce news of further international expansion imminently.”
James and James is an outsourced order fulfilment business, and was set up back in 2010, when James Hyde and James Strachan (founders) were working for a health food business. A project came up in which they had to find the UK’s best order fulfilment company. Neither could find what they were looking for: online, real time order processing with live reporting and deep integration with CRM systems and the shopping cart. And so, they decided to set up their own fulfilment company.
Six years later it has warehouses in Northampton, Cambridge, Ohio and New Zealand.
