John Lewis is to build a 300,000 sq ft distribution centre in the Milton Keynes area, having agreed terms for a 10-year contract with Clipper Logistics to run the facility once operational.
The retailer will work in collaboration with the logistics firm in developing the facility, which will support John Lewis’ Magna Park DC. Clipper is presently selecting a final location for the operation, and initial activity is expected to commence in the second half of 2016.
Earlier this year, John Lewis signed a 25-year lease on a 638,000 sq ft warehouse in the Milton Keynes area, which, when operational, would handle large furniture, electrical appliances and home furnishings.
