Joinery specialist Performance Doorset Solutions has chosen XPO Logistics to handle up to 50 transports per week between factories, ports, stores and new property developments.
Performance Doorset Solutions was acquired by Florida-based Masonite Group in 2015.
XPO already manages Masonite Group’s transport operations in Barnsley and Huthwaite. By moving PDS’s distribution to XPO, Masonite aims to consolidate its supply chain and improve efficiencies.
One immediate benefit will be the availability of an additional vehicle to deliver daily on behalf of PDS helping to ensure uninterrupted distribution. Factory stockpiling is no longer necessary, reducing un-invoiced items to near zero.
Mike Bratt, site director at PDS, said: “This new contract means more rapid innovation, an end to factory stockpiling, more efficient solutions, and faster delivery for our customers.”
