Henderson Park and Cole Waterhouse have appointed Savills as joint leasing agents on the first 1.1 million ft2 phase at Konect 62 industrial and logistics development in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. Savills will work alongside DTRE and Sixteen Real Estate.
Construction has already commenced on the first phase of the scheme which will be made up of four units, include ‘Big K’, a 735,000 ft2 unit, one of the largest ever delivered in the north of the UK. Three further units of 161,000ft2, 151,000ft2, and 55,000ft2 will also be constructed with practical completion scheduled for Q3 2023.
Konect 62 will target BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and an EPC A efficiency rating, providing occupiers with a sustainable building that will provide utility long into the future. Measures include roof lights, EV charging facilities, LED lighting and mechanical heat recovery. Each unit will also be solar PV-ready, enabling occupiers to further their own sustainability agendas.
Tom Asher, Industrial and Logistics Director at Savills Leeds said: “We are continuing to see a significant lack of supply within the Yorkshire industrial market, particularly for big box units, so we expect to see strong interest in Big K and indeed the wider Konect 62 development.”
David Nuttall, Managing Director of Industrial and Logistics at Cole Waterhouse said: “We’re making great strides delivering Konect 62 and bringing Savills on board to augment our team of DTRE and Sixteen Real Estate will further drive the site forward as we move into 2023. We’re making a significant statement in delivering such a large scale of development and we have the potential to bring forward a further 800,000 to 900,000 ft2 in future phases.”
