Global online food delivery giant Just Eat Takeaway (JET) is looking to acquire a series of inner-city hubs across the UK and Europe.
JLL has been appointed by the company to acquire leaseholds of between 500-20,000ft2 for inner-city ‘Scoober’ hubs.
Scoober is Just Eat’s delivery model in Europe with employed couriers. Scoober hubs provide a location for couriers to begin and end their shifts, and to house Scoober’s fleet of e-bikes and materials.
The growth of Scoober will support and enable the company’s plans for continued expansion and allow them to continue connecting consumers and restaurants through its platform. Scoober is currently already active in over 200 cities in 14 markets.
Ashley Smart, EMEA Logistics Business Development Director, JLL, said: “There is an increasing demand for last mile urban logistics space, which this mandate underpins. Our aim is to identify inner city industrial units for JET, as well as identifying obsolete space that may have come around as a result of the accelerated shift towards e-commerce.”
