Kerry Logistics Network has introduced six “robotic butlers” at its PC3 facility in Hong Kong to meet growing online shopping consumer demands.
The butlers are used take “shelves” of product from the store to the pick station, where a worker picks the required item.
Orders are transmitted to the robotic butlers via the warehouse management system. The solution seamlessly incorporates robotic butlers, WMS, Pick-to-Light and Android-based EPOD to provide order fulfilment for B2B2C and B2C businesses.
Kerry believes the system is ideal for e-commerce. The robotic butlers operate 24/7 and can pick 280 items per hour compared to 50 items in the normal course and the pick rate is four times faster.
