Kier Property, in joint venture with Test Valley Borough Council, has submitted a new detailed planning application for Logistics City Andover on the Walworth Business Park.
Logistics City Andover is a four-unit scheme totalling 452,000ft² of industrial space.
The joint venture, which has been in effect since 2011, will mark this scheme as its fourth and largest redevelopment scheme on the park.
If approved, this development will provide the opportunity to bring forward large-scale units of up to 219,185ft2².
Kier Property hopes that investing additional capital to secure a detailed planning consent will enhance the joint venture’s ability to deliver requirements with shorter pre-commencement timescales.
Additionally, as the partnership targets a high BREEAM rating, solar panels will be integrated across the site to support sustainable energy generation.
Multiple EV charging points will also be installed to accommodate the transition to electric fleets and personal vehicles.
Lastly, a dedicated cycle storage and a new cycle path connecting the site to the adjacent village and town centre will be installed, promoting eco-friendly commuting options.
Kier Property’s group managing director, Leigh Thomas said: “We are excited to continue our successful partnership with Test Valley Borough Council.
“The proposed scheme underpins our commitment to deliver high-quality sustainable new warehousing that meet the needs of businesses and the local community.”
