Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) has won a seven year warehousing and distribution contract with Assa Abloy (UK), the lock and security company.
K+N will operate the company’s Wolverhampton national distribution centre; managing all UK transport between the site and Assa Abloy’s customers and manufacturing facility at Willenhall. It will be responsible for the collection of finished goods from manufacturing sites, receipt of goods, pick, pack & dispatch operations, delivery to retail outlets and end users, as well as value added services including re-packing and customer-specific product configurations.
“We went with Kuehne + Nagel because they bought into our business strategy and to date they have executed the contract in a highly professional way to a high standard,” said Lee Philp, COO, Assa Abloy.
Richard Roberson, general manager, business development at Kuehne + Nagel said: “This is a key strategic win for the Kuehne + Nagel Contract Logistics business in the UK and fits perfectly with our strategy to further develop our presence in the Industrial and Technology sectors.”
