Renova recently consolidated an investment plan for the construction of a new tissue paper manufacturing unit in Torres Novas, Portugal.
Körber has supported Renova since 1993 with automation solutions for its intralogistics, as well as, with tissue manufacturing technologies for its production.
This year Renova moves forward with Körber Supply Chain to increase its finished goods storage capacity and operational performance with the implementation of a fully automated warehouse (ASRS) for pallets, covering its wide range of tissue products and seamlessly integrated with the Körber WCS.
The new warehouse is connected to all existing operational areas through a high-speed monorail system. Additionally, to cope with the new production activities, upgrade works on the existing tissue reel automated warehousing and transport systems will be implemented.
Luís Saramago, Marketing Director, at Renova said: “For an international company like Renova, it is much more complex than showing temporary results. It depends on a set of long-term sustainability factors, including the consistency of its philosophy and organisational values.
“We have chosen Körber to optimise our processes’ efficiency, as well because we believe in Körber’s Ecosystem and its supply chain market knowledge. Due to the increase of our production capacity in the last years, we decided to invest in a new fully automated warehouse.”
Körber Supply Chain Automation (Stand i1030) will be at IntraLogisteX on 28-29 March 2023 at the NEC Birmingham. For more information, visit www.intralogistex.co.uk.
