Kuehne+Nagel has introduced a new offering for air freight shipments with the aim of providing customers with reliable and agile supply chains to combat the issues that companies around the world have faced with the supply of semiconductors.
The air logistics service will use a global network of locations that meet Kuehne+Nagel’s new ‘SemiconChain’ quality standard to transport semiconductors ‘under the correct conditions with full air cargo tracking capabilities’.
Digital tracking tools will allow customers to track the progress of the shipment as well as the status of the cargo in real-time.
The instability in semiconductor supply chains has been a major issue in global logistics over the past few years. The pandemic, fluctuations in demand, and geopolitical tension have all heavily impacted the supply of semiconductor chips, which are vital in the manufacturing of technology ranging from mobile phones to cars.
With this in mind, it is no surprise that Kuehne+Nagel is focusing its efforts on semiconductors in particular by providing robust services that it will hope customers can rely on.
