Kuehne+Nagel has partnered with Pepco, a European retailer selling discount clothing and household products, to provide warehousing and automation services connecting its distribution network across several countries in Europe.
The distributor will offer its services for Pepco’s end-to-end distribution in Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece. Kuehne+Nagel will use a facility with over 500,000ft2 of warehouse space to store, pick, and load goods for Pepco. It claims that the site will employ 250 people and make use of automated sorting technology.
Pepco began in 2004 as a chain of discount stores in Poland. Now the brand has expanded to have thousands of locations across Europe including in Hungary, Italy, and Spain. Pepco is a subsidiary of Pepco Group. The group also owns Poundland in the UK and Dealz, which has stores in Ireland.
Speaking on the new Pepco partnership, Filip Bardzinski, National Contract Logistics Manager for Kuehne+Nagel in Romania said: “Our combination of services, technology, sustainability commitment and network perfectly meets the demands of this growing company by enabling seamless supply chain coverage”.
