Brightstar, the mobile phone distribution giant, has appointed Nick Lefever as its supply chain operations director for EMEA.
Lefever has held senior supply chain management roles at numerous firms and joins Brightstar from Telefónica Europe. His 28 years’ experience in the mobile sector has also seen him work at Three and Vodafone. At O2 he launched the industry’s first device recycling scheme.
As general manager of supply chain at Telefónica O2 UK, Lefever led the company to win three European Supply Chain Excellence Awards. It was awarded the Sourcing & Procurement and Hi-tech, Communications & Electronics prizes, as well as winning the ultimate accolade of Overall Winner at the 2009 Awards.
He joins Brightstar in a newly created role and will work with the existing management team on maximising the efficiency of existing customer operations as well as developing new business in UK and EMEA.
Brightstar, which recorded revenues of $10bn (£6.4bn) in 2014, distributes wireless products and services to more than 100 countries, with local offices in 50 countries across six continents, and provides services for manufacturers, operators and retailers.
