Lidl has opened its 800th store and said it will spend £1.3 billion in store expansion over 2021 and 2022.
The grocery store has opened 50 new stores over the past 12 months and has today opened stores in four new locations in Cambridge, London, Boston, and Dumbarton.
Lidl GB chief executive officer Christian Härtnagel said: “We’re excited to have reached this milestone, which simply means that we’re bringing affordable, high quality food to even more households across Britain.” I am not sure about this quote.
Lidl said it would commit to investing £1.3 billion to continue to expand its store footprint over the next few years, after it has opened six new warehouses over the last four years.
