Leeds-based supply chain management company Ligentia has announced its new partnership with Pledge, a climate solutions provider, to offer its customers ‘enhanced visibility of their carbon footprint and scope 3 emissions’.
The data will be available through the company’s existing Ligentix supply chain management platform and will be used to inform decisions on improving sustainability as well as simply tracking organisations’ carbon emissions.
Dan Gill, Ligentia’s Chief Customer Officer said: “By partnering with Pledge we are able to provide customers with real-time visibility over their carbon emissions, helping them to measure, manage and take action on reducing their climate impact.”
He continued: “Our expectation is that this will become a key data point that is continuously assessed, not a one-off annual activity. Consumers are becoming more socially conscious and we’re seeing shifts in purchasing behaviours towards brands that have core sustainability values. By providing customers with this data, we are helping support their reduction strategies and plans.”
Pledge tracks emissions ‘using specific shipment data by mode and individual vessel’. Its data is accredited by the Smart Freight Centre (SFC) in line with the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) framework.
