Logistics Manager will moderate a special panel discussion on the future of fuel for fleets at Akabo Media’s co-located IntraLogisteX, Robotics and Automation, and Sustainable Supply Chain exhibitions on 19-20 March 2024 at the NEC Birmingham.
As part of a multi-theatre conference programme, this session is the first of two Logistics Manager panel discussions at the co-located shows. The first session, entitled “Biofuels: the future of fleet?” will take place at the Sustainable Supply Chain Exhibition Theatre on Day Two of the event and see a range of experts from the logistics and supply chain sector discuss how use of different fuels can help businesses reduce their carbon emissions and meet their sustainability targets.
James McLoughlin, assistant editor at Logistics Manager, will moderate the 50-minute session. He said: “As most modern businesses prioritise reducing emissions and improving sustainability in their future strategies, a critical conversation has emerged about the fate of fleets in logistics and the supply chain.
“While discussions about electric vehicles and hydrogen as a fuel source dominate the industry, one strategy that is often overlooked is the adoption of biofuels.
“This panel discussion will explore different biofuels, how they compare to other fuel sources and how fleets of the future will likely be fuelled.”
“I’m looking forward to delving into this topic and hearing what industry experts make of alternative fuels within the logistics sector.”
The Sustainable Supply Chain Exhibition Theatre will be located within the Sustainable Supply Chain Exhibition and host a number of presentations delivered by keynote speakers from across the logistics and supply chain sector on topics such as decarbonisation, the circular economy, the achievability of ambitious net zero targets and the role of artificial intelligence in improving sustainability strategies.
In total, 8,000 attendees are expected across all three co-located events, drawn from sectors including, but not limited to, automotive, healthcare, F&B, retail, 3PLs, transport, distribution and government/public sector.
