Maersk says its operations are now running close to normal again following the cyber attack that hit its booking system at the end of June.
In a customer update the container line said: “Our Deliveries and Collections webpage is now live again. The page gives you full visibility of the next available booking days for both Import Deliveries and Export Collections, along with our equipment availability throughout the UK & Ireland.
We also expect that our online quoting tool will be live again week commencing 24th July.
On 27th June, the Ukraine was hit by a massive cyber attack, named Petya, on government and corporate networks that quickly spread to hit supply chains globally. Maersk, the world’s largest container shipping line, was the most notable casualty. The TNT network was also affected, though not parent company FedEx.Other corporations hit by Petya included Mondelez, parent of Cadbury’s, and WPP, the world’s largest advertising and PR company.
