Top 50 logistics service provider, Meachers Global Logistics (which ranked £40 of the 50 fastest-growing companies analysed), has expanded its fleet with seven new specialist vehicles as part of a £1.5 million investment programme designed to offer a wider range of services to customers.
The Southampton-based international freight and transport logistics company has replaced vehicles at its Nursling headquarters with five DAF XG Tractor units and a further two DAF CF 26T tail lift rigids have been acquired for its Palletways base in Fair Oak.
More fleet replacements will be brought in over the next 12 months in all depots, liveried in the Meachers’ yellow and red branding that has been used for the past 60 years.
The total investment is expected to be in excess of £1.5 million and include a comprehensive trailer replacement scheme. All the new vehicles will be the highest specification, fitted with the latest camera technology in line with the London direct vision permits.
“Meachers is thrilled to be investing for the future with this brand-new fleet of specialist vehicles which will bring a wider range of services to our customers,” said Jamie Terris, Fleet Director.
“The investment programme will make the Meachers brand more prominent over the entire business and allow for even more growth in the future.”
